Creatives Helping
Creatives.

Being a creative shouldn’t be a lonely venture into the unknown, nor should it feel like the world is against you.

In the We Talk of Dreams community, it doesn’t matter what you create, how long you’ve been creating, if you haven’t managed to create in a while, or if you’ve just started thinking about creating. All that matters is that you’re here, with us, and want to share your world and dreams with other like-minded people.

If you’re looking for a place to call your creative home, where you can share, collaborate, learn, improve, or simply meet other creatives, then this is your space.

When I founded We Talk of Dreams in 2015, I chose it as my name while I created soundtracks. I built it on the foundation of a simple truth: That what we dream of, and how we connect to each other, is what’s really important.

Together, as a community, we can keep building each other up. That, truly, is how We Talk of Dreams.

Twitch Streams

Our Affiliated Twitch channel is a space that hosts weekly streams where our community comes together to discuss topics related to being a creative. The platform allows us to host roundtable discussions about themes that can be difficult to find, especially for beginners and newcomers to their respective crafts.

Past streams have covered a wide range of topics including:

• How to Set Your Rates As A Freelancer
• How to Attract Clients While Keeping Artistic Integrity
• Time Management in Creative Spheres
• Creative Burnout
• Ageism in Creative Practices

Our Twitch channel is the place to find the information you need, without having to scale a paywall, or commit to taking a course. It’s a place to connect to the community, ask questions, and see people as friends rather than competitors.

All past Twitch streams, including workshops and “create with me” sessions can also be rewatched in full on our YouTube channel.

“The WToD channel is a diverse collection of creative processes, discussion, and fun. I am extremely excited to see further conversations about artistic ventures with Nico and special guests.”

“The streams have been paramount to helping me feel less alone during the pandemic. Now I have a place to go and just hang out with friends, as well as learning about being a professional creative – something that used to be a pipe dream.”

Discord Server

With our own thriving Discord server of over 200 members, we are an artistic and communicative hub where creatives from all industries come together: Musicians, artists, editors, writers, photographers, actors, and hobbyists. We work across all mediums, from the digital and virtual of programs and platforms, to the physical in-hand projects of yarn and resin and oil paints. We never discriminate against anyone’s journey, creative path, or skill level.

In our Discord server, we champion the belief that art is what connects us to the world, and through it, we find what we truly want to do. We Talk of Dreams is the melody to your world — but that’s only the beginning. On Discord, we provide the space for you to experiment, collaborate, discuss, and create, without the pressures of the outside world.

From weekly collaborative “Chill Create Sessions”, to community games nights, to challenging writing sprints to ignite your creativity with other like-minded individuals, the We Talk of Dreams server is the true beating heart of our community motto: “Creatives Helping Creatives”

“Having a community of other creatives to yell about our respective crafts has been really encouraging. The enthusiasm is infectious! I’ve been more creative in the last few months I’ve been active in WToD than I had been in years before that.”

“The community showed me that you don’t have to be perfect to count as an artist. The motivation and the support of everyone helped me to create again, and gave me the courage to try new things.”
